Dumfries Camera Club and Eastwood Photographic Society represented Scotland at the PAGB Inter-Club PDI Championships at Warwick University on 14th July. Judges Phil Charnock, Des Clinton and Richard Spurdens scored eight images from each of the 38 participating clubs in the first round. Club representatives then had the the opportunity to select the next eight photographs from their bank of 40 images. The top eight clubs qualified for the final and a guaranteed place in the 2019 Championship.
Steady scoring saw Dumfries contesting the final and sure of a return trip to Warwick next year. Wigan 10 Photo Club took first place by one point from Rolls-Royce (Derby) PS with Chorley PS and Smethwick PS close behind. Eastwood finished first equal in the Plate competition and took the Don Morrison Plate won by Dumfries in 2017.
