Dumfries Camera Club won the prestigious Scottish Photographic Federation Projected Digital Championship for the fourth year running at Stirling Court Hotel, Stirling, on Sunday 13th November.
The SPF Digital Championship is held annually and provides the opportunity for amateur camera clubs throughout Scotland to compete and potentially qualify to represent the SPF at the British Digital Championship held in Warwick.
Over 25 clubs competed this year showcasing over 500 digital images from all genres of photography and judged by 3 eminent judges, Howard Tate MA(Phot) ARPS AFIAP from YPU, Kathryn Scorah MPAGB FBPE from L&CPU and Tony Potter ARPS EFIAP/pl GMPSA DPAGB APAGB from NCPF.
Ian Findlay, External PDI secretary for Dumfries Camara Club said “It was an exciting watch to say the least. Scores were up and down for all of our entries with some award winning images scoring low marks on the day. It was impossible to predict but I knew other clubs were scoring in a similar way, so we were in the running throughout. In the end we won by just one point!!’
Dumfries Camera Club is made up of more than 50 members who enjoy practical nights, lessons, external talks, and challenge each other through internal competitions on a regular basis throughout the season, providing a platform to compete at a national level.

Well done
Dumfries & Eastwood qualify to go to Warwick next year. Carluke, as 2015 finalists, had already qualified.
We will need new work or we are doomed. :(
Well done.
