Two of Blackpool's Heritage Trams lined up on the loop at Pleasure Beach, last September as part of Blackpool Tramway's 130th Anniversary celebrations.
With the introduction of the new Bombardier Flexity2 trams Blackpool Transport planned to get rid of most of their old trams. They did retain a few, with modified doors, as the B fleet but they hardly saw any service.
However, some of the staff within Blackpool Transport did recognise their tourist potential and with a new chief executive at Blackpool Transport things are looking up. They've formed a heritage trust, brought back some of the trams that were got rid of and they are marketing the vintage fleet hard to the tourist market.
The eventual plan is to become totally separate from Blackpool Transport and cater for the tourists and tram enthusiasts who don't want to be crammed like sardines on the modern, people movers. They want to develop the old depot as a museum/visitor centre/heritage workshop.
