the challenge this time is a landscape, streetscape. Outdoors and not a portrait. People and animals can be present in the pic but not as the primary subject. 

Bring other new stuff if you like if we have time.

Bring 1 to 3 prints for informal, friendly discussion.  Don't need to be A3 or mounted.

We will also decide on the content of future evenings.

A selection of members will give a brief talk about their favourite photographer.

A team from Carlisle will judge 'the Annual' over the afternoon and evening.

Your chance to judge the entries for these two competitions.  Two trophies are at stake.

We cannot open the online Tombola entry again without a lot of unnecessary work.  Bring them on a stick with a one word title and you can enter them on the night.

If we have time, we will look at the Borders Digital Challenge pictures - where we came Second.

The last round of the Print League will be judged by Al Buntin MPAGB ARPS from Dundee PS.

This is one night you really don't want to miss!

Des Clinton FIPF, FRPS, MFIAP is a founder member of Drogheda PS and has been prominent in Irish Photography for over thirty years. He continues to be an active and committed photographer especially in the genres of social documentary, travel and nature photography. Des can be found with his camera from the Horse Fair in Muff to an Orange Parade in Belfast. He is currently Chair of Distinctions in the IPF and is a Fellowship & Associate Assessor at the RPS.

The evening will include the draw for the 'Pairs Event.'

Rod's challenge for us is 'Board to Death.'  

Plus - an opportunity to view prints that narrowly missed selection for the ‘Masters of Print’ competition.  The exhibition only included 59 of the many hundreds entered and the organisers have compiled a ‘Salon Refuses’ of 33 excellent photographs.

2017's finale is the annual quiz - hosted this year by ......... John McVie.

I shall be hosting a PIG meeting on Tuesday 12th September (usual time and place)covering a variety of Photoshop Techniques. I have already been asked to demonstrate Sharpening and Mono Conversion, but if anyone attending has any other suggestions that they would like me to cover, please let me know. 

This meeting will be in the Main Gallery where our 1000 People Exhibition is.  Doors open at 7:15 and at 7:30 (promptly) we will have a short opening "ceremony" for the exhibition.  Then we will send you out on the Photo Treasure Hunt to return at, or before 8:50, when you can hand over your photos for upload and have a good look round our FABULOUS exhibition.  There will be some seats for anyone infirm and/or who doesn't feel able to go out.  You don't have to go walking but please support te opening.
