Crikey Margaret, this is June, thats in October!
Just putting the dates in my busy diary and thought I would mention it was missing.
It is already on the syllabus on 8 October - all that is missing is the icon which I will now add.
Club Draw - a judging night, so NO DRAW TO-NIGHT.
Save your money for next week, when the draw will return.
You seemed to enjoy her presentation. Will you enjoy her judging? Will she be better than our last judge?
Er, I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and say yes.

I thought Margaret's talk last night was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and found it quite inspirational and emotional. Some very powerful images in her show.
It was good Tom. Quite thought provoking. We always judge images on face value but I wonder if we'd alter our perception of an image if we knew the story behind it. Maybe that's why so many brilliant images get overlooked - because the story is hidden, or at least not glaring. And, subsequently, that may be why so many 'manufactured/altered/dramatised' images always do well (or at least slightly better) than their more 'plain' but equally valid 'standard' images. I choose my words carefully as there is plenty of middle ground. Is it impactful storytelling that club photography always wants? I get frustrated when several poorly taken images combined badly (and I mean poorly and I mean badly) get well received, yet a competent image using camera skill and knowledge gets overlooked or criticised. At that point I want to jump out of my seat and shout at the judge - obviously I don't, have you seen the size of the bouncer!
I couldnt agree more Ian. Photography is an art form and, as with all art, it is best understood when it is accompanied by an explanation of what its creator was trying to achieve, otherwise art gets judged solely on 'appearance' and that demeans art. There needs to be a balance between technical skill, creative vision and storytelling. In my opinion great images combine all of these aspects. Good images demonstrate one or two of these qualitites. Just my opinion... and I'm not arguing with the bouncer either!
Totally agree with Ian & Tom! Will be interesting to hear her comments on the night.Her personal insight & story behind each picture was fascinating. Had a look at the syllabus, the standard of future guests is amazing , whether they're judging or 'lecturing'.
